Job Description Systems Engineer

Position Description
At CGI's Security, Administrative, Justice, and Enforcement Business Unit, we are looking for System Engineers to deliver IT excellence and innovative solutions in the Cloud. Work with fellow engineers and developers to form the best minds in Cloud solutions and given innovative solutions to our clients.


Your future duties and responsibilities
Candidates will be required to provide an extensive understanding of the architecture and processes for large, complex Cloud environments. Candidates will interact with internal/external technical and functional groups to form a cohesive project team. Candidates will be responsible for providing professional and effective technical consulting services to client organizations while supporting n-tier systems. Successful candidates will perform job activities in a thoughtful and careful manner with the goal of providing uninterrupted service to the architecture and user community within the defined system availability times. Work to include, but not limited to:

-Assist in virtual/physical network and system design.
-Plan for and tune all instance components within RHEL and WINTEL platforms.
-Install, upgrade, patch, and maintain Apache, Tuxedo, Weblogic, Webmethods, Oracle/SQL Server DB instances.
-Automate system admin tasks such has provisioning, monitoring, scaling, and management.
-Interact with testing and development teams to resolve problems and identify system enhancements within C++ and J2EE.
-Function on a 24/7/365 on call rotation.



Required qualifications to be successful in this role
-Due to the nature of this US Government contract, US Citizenship or Permanent Residency is required.


-Bachelor's degree in CS, CE, IS/IT or like technical degree with a minimum of 3 years of hands-on SE experience. An additional 4 years of experience may be substituted in lieu of degree.
-Minimum of 3 years of Oracle Tuxedo, Weblogic, and DB administration.
-Minimum of 3 years of SQL or PL/SQL development experience.
-Minimum of 3 years of scripting or OO programming in C++, J2EE, Perl, Python, or shell.
-Minimum of 1 year of automation experience via Chef/Puppet.
-Minimum of 2 years of monitoring experience via OEM or like ITSM/performance monitoring tool.
-Must be able to successfully complete a CGI background check to start employment.
-Must be able to work in the US for an indefinite period of time to be considered.

Desired Skills:
-Oracle certified Weblogic / Tuxedo Administrator
-RHCE 6/7certification
-Experience in Azure/AWS/VMware Clouds
