Position Details Job order - J0817-0869 - Permanent Full Time Title Systems Engineer Category Software Development/ Engineering City Washington, District of Columbia, United States Job Description Systems Engineer Position Description Position Summary: Provide mid-level systems engineering and project management support for NAVSEA. Principle Duties & Responsibilities: Assist with engineering planning, acquisition and project management support for NAVSEA program office. Requires technical understanding of Navy systems and ability to work in fast pace team environment. Position requires attention to details with the ability to review schedules, engineering specifications and system designs, detailed spreadsheets, financial and project orders, and related information to support customers execute government engineering programs. Participate in routine project management meetings to assist with software system design, requirements generation, cost estimating, process improvement planning and documentation, and tracking documentation and action items. Requires analytical skills to collect, organize, synthesize, and analyze data; summarize findings; develop conclusions and recommendations from appropriate data sources at the work group level. Applicant should have the general ability to accept and perform responsibilities and work assigned tasks as a project team member in support of the overall project. Applicant should also have the ability to lead and direct the activities and resources of smaller assigned projects. Requires good communication skills, both verbal and written, excellent organizational skills, the ability to establish and maintain working relationships with internal and external customers and the ability to work independently and take a proactive role.
