Position Details Job order - J0717-1129 - Permanent Full Time Title Systems Engineer (Software) SME Category Software Development/ Engineering City San Diego, California, United States Job Description Systems Engineer (Software) SME Position Description This position requires a Department of Defense (DoD) clearance, so US Citizenship is a must. Position Summary: CGI is seeking a satellite systems engineer software developer engineers to support the JMS Sustainment team in the San Diego, CA area. Principle Duties & Responsibilities: The focus of this position is support the sustainment of current fielded JMS system current systems under development. A successful applicant will be able to support JAVA and other upgrades/patches planned under sustainment: - Support developers with creation of their specific software of integration into JMS. - Support management in decisions regarding acceptance of a developer's product. - Deliver multiple demonstrations of integrated software product for developers, program management civilians and senior level management. Required Knowledge, Skills, & Abilities: • Bachelor of Science (BS) in Information Technology, Computer Science, Engineering or similar degree from an accredited university; 7-8 years of experience may be substituted in lieu of a degree. • Systems/Software Support: Possess the ability to read various software languages; 3-5 years of experience. Java, Python, C, .Net Design, architect and develop software projects is a bonus. Experience with Service Oriented Architecture or general Enterprise Web Services components to include Java messaging bus and queuing services (ActiveMQ, ServiceMix, etc.) Oracle Database, Application web servers/services (Weblogic, JBOSS, Apache, etc.) and web service schema/WSDL. • Strong communications skills and the ability to interface effectively with users, customers, management, and other engineering personnel. • Ability to learn rapidly. • Self-motivated and able to work independently • Experience in JAVA programming, Oracle DBs, Hornet/Active M and ESB. • Travel 25% of time to support the program through requirements meetings, software testing events, or assisting new developers. Additional Requirements: • Top Secret security clearance with SCI eligibility • Security+ or CISSP Certification • Have, or have within 90 days of employment, DOD 8570.1M IATI/IATII Certification.
