Position Description
• Working out which IT products to use based on cost benefit analysis and research in the perspective of the maintenance / upgrade of the infrastructure
• Explaining to system analyst and developers what's required and overseeing the progress
• Producing documents that monitor progress and ensure the quality of the maintenance of the infrastructure
• Advising the technical authority on managing future IT needs, management of walkthroughs and reviews related to problem, testing and implementation readiness
• Ensure the integration of all aspects of technology solutions
• Contribute to the infrastructure design workshops and working sessions to discuss the business requirements and system design
• Infrastructure testing for disaster recovery system
• Review and analyze technical infrastructure environments to understand and advise on risks and impacts to projects / solutions
• Building, installing, configuring and administrating data encryption
• Updating / maintenance on server
• Create digital certificate account for brokers and execute testing / migration and documentation for the use of their accounts
• Installing, configuring and troubleshooting major operating systems (Win 2003, Win 2008 and server) in a Microsoft Active Directory environment
• Installing, configuring and troubleshooting in SQL Server 2005 / 2008 R2 / 2012
• Find and report bugs on the infrastructure using GAC tool
• Perform system, regression, functional, performance, load and exploratory testing on the infrastructure
• Review, analyze and document technical infrastructure environments
• Ensure the integration of all aspects of technology solutions.
• Provide Regular Status Reports on infrastructure
• Create digital Certificates and documentation for brokers
• Test digital Certificates / Migration
• 3rd level support for brokers
• Install / configure / maintain / monitor / test / fix issues on Database and infrastructure
• Create documentation on Database
• Producing a detailed document for each legacy system with server names, roles and IP addresses, document software versions and proof of licenses, hardware components, backup procedures, etc
• Keep the system up and running
• Run Regular Status Reports on database and infrastructure
• Run Monthly Testing on the disaster recovery system and fix issues if problems / issues
• Database and infrastructure engineering and reverse engineering
• Provide knowledge transfer

Required qualifications to be successful in this role
1.3 MANDATORY REQUIREMENTS

Technology Architect – Level 3 and must demonstrate using project descriptions that the proposed resource has a minimum ten (10) years of experience working as a Technology Architect

Valid Government of Canada security clearance at the SECRET level

minimum of two (2) IM/IT enabled legislative and/or regulatory projects for Government of Canada (GoC) departments/ agencies/ crown corporations.

minimum of ten (10) years’ experience as a Microsoft Windows 2003 System Administrator

minimum of ten (10) years professional work experience defining and documenting the scope, objectives, milestones and deliverables for IM/IT enabled projects.

at least ten (10) years’ experience building, installing, configuring and administrating SQL database.

At least ten (10) years of practical hands-on experience in developing or implementing application architecture of Wide Area networks.

experience/performed in a lead supervisory role for at least one (1) year.
has experience with Microsoft System Center Operations Manager (SCOM).

experience managing a team.

experience building, installing, configuring and administrating data encryption

experience working with Entrust Direct version 6.0 certification or other software certification / authentication platform. (e.g. Entrust)
