Job Description UX Expert

Position Description
CGI is looking for a UX Expert to join our Federal Business Unit who will support our Security, Administrative, Judicial, and Enforcement Programs Team. This position is to provide software development and application engineering support services to build a modern Web-based automated system as part of a team using Agile Scrum methodologies. The candidate will support the development of a public facing web application that houses a large content library and provides rich online search functionality against millions of digital records.


Your future duties and responsibilities
The UX Designer will be responsible for research and design efforts for web based information architecture and interaction design. The UX Designer will work with client stakeholders to develop strategies and specifications to improve the performance, usability and effectiveness of user interfaces. Utilizing a User Centered Design approach, the UX Designer will synthesize information gathered from user groups, client meetings, team collaboration, best practices, and heuristic and competitive analyses to develop personas, site maps, user interface diagrams, and interactive wireframes to illustrate the layout, flow and organization of web enabled applications. In addition, the UX Designer will facilitate Usability Testing and help determine how best to integrate these findings into the site architecture and user interface.


Required qualifications to be successful in this role
• 5+ years information architecture and usability analysis experience designing user interfaces for web based applications; 3+ years of experience as a lead
• Expert knowledge of Axure and other widely accepted UX design tools including Adobe CC, Balsamiq, Sketch, and InVision
• 3+ years of experience with application design, content strategy, and content management systems
• Ability to partner with client stakeholders to gather functional requirements based on business processes and user needs
• Experience with Agile Scrum including writing user stories and tasks
• Hands on experience with UX deliverables including strategy and analysis documents, prototypes, Visual Design and UI specifications
• Hands on design of navigation, interaction, nomenclature systems, and UI diagrams including flows, wireframes, and sitemaps
• Experience with usability testing including writing screeners and scripts, running focus groups, facilitating card sorting, surveys, and remote session testing
• Expert knowledge of usability best practices and accessibility issues, including 508 compliance and ARIA
• Working understanding of frontend technologies including CSS3, HTML5, jQuery UI, and other evolving interface standards to assist in design
• Understanding of Responsive Design and supporting frameworks such as BootStrap
