Position Description
CGI is looking for a Web Designer to join our Federal Business Unit who support our Security, Administrative, Judicial, and Enforcement Programs Team. This position is to provide creative design services to build a modern, Web-based automated system as part of a team using Agile Scrum methodologies The Web Designer will have an in-depth knowledge of visual design, user-centric design methodologies, web design principles, responsive design, and information architecture. Given the nature of this position, this candidate must combine strong user design and Web (HTML/CSS3) development expertise.


Your future duties and responsibilities
• Designing and architecting user-centric designs for a Web-based system by gathering requirements based on the existing agency’s strategy, business processes, user workflow
• Creating web design products such as: visual designs, user workflow diagrams, sitemaps, information architecture diagrams, wireframes, high-fidelity mockup, screen flows, CMS content models, iterative design deliverables, full design packages, and HTML prototypes.
• Working with Solution Architects, domain experts, and project team members to come to consensus on your proposed user-centric design and to ensure that web design meets both client and end user needs
•Maintaining a current knowledge of web design trends in industry and government – particularly in the U.S. Federal Government, and determining the impact of these trends on for Web-based solutions



Required qualifications to be successful in this role
• 10 years of relevant experience
• Bachelor’s Degree preferred
• Must have knowledge of complex and large scale web design and working as part of a software development team; possess knowledge of Agile Scrum methodologies.
• Must have knowledge and experience of web design principles and practices
• Wireframing
• HTML/CSS3
Ability to engage with clients and work with multiple development teams
• Ability to deliver your web design products and deliverables on time and in budget
• Strong working knowledge of creative/web design software products (such as Photoshop, Illustrator, InDesign) and associated design tools; and prototyping design tools (such as Balsamic, Axure or Proto.io)
• Demonstrated competence in analysis and problems solving principles with emphasis in identifying and managing the functional requirements and information architecture portion of the web design and user interface (UI) development discipline
• Self-motivated with the ability to prioritize, meet deadlines, and manage changing priorities
Exceptional visual design skills, production value and attention to detail

Desired
Knowledge of the following software platforms and technologies:
 Java (J2EE)
 JSP Template
 JavaScript/AJAX
 Spring (MVC,Web Services, Security,
 Batch)
 SQL, Hibernate
 Maven/Gradel
 Jenkins
 Experience in Federal or Legislative branch system application development lifecycle (SDLC) is a plus.
