The Requirements

The ideal candidate for the Regional Account Manager opportunity will have an entrepreneurial attitude, leadership skills and the ability to be a team player at all levels. S/he must communicate regularly with DECRA's leadership team and other internal staff members, as well as communicate effectively with all levels of professionals in and outside of DECRA.

To be a strong fit for the Regional Account Manager opportunity, you will also have:
  • A bachelor’s degree in Sales, Marketing, Business or another relevant field highly preferred but not required

  • Digital and social media experience with a strong footprint preferred

The Role

Opportunity Snapshot
Reporting to the Sales Manager, as Regional Account Manager (RAM), you will develop and expand existing and new National and Regional accounts within your defined geography and assigned accounts. To meet and exceed your goals, you will be responsible for a creating a strategy and execution plan that results in measurable business growth. For example, you will:
  • Build high-level relationships within existing assigned accounts and identify key corporate contacts in target accounts.
  • Drive new sales opportunities with existing customers, positioning the company for success.
  • Personally contact and secure new business accounts, in coordination with the Sales Manager.
  • Develop and implement a sales playbook for each account to guide Field Sales Manager/Representatives as they call on branches and manage all aspects of assigned accounts within their portfolio.
  • Facilitate long-term relationships with strong potential for repeat business.
  • Drive efficiency and costs from DECRA and the customer.
Role Details
You'll spend a good deal of time identifying new opportunities and doing market research, but the majority of your time will be spent in the field. Naturally, your primary mission will be to increase business, but you'll also have influence in other areas, such as acting as the conduit between the Field Sales team and Corporate Marketing, to help develop the tools needed to grow sales with new and existing customers.  

Additionally, you will:
  • Achieve sales growth for National and Regional Accounts consistent with the business.
  • Establish and maintain a high level of quality and timely service to customers for maximum retention. Act as a central point of contact to service existing or assigned accounts, needs and requests.
  • Drive wider and deeper account penetration with new and existing accounts through proactive contact with the accounts; building, expanding and maintaining strong relationships with multiple departments and key decision makers at multiple levels within customer organizations.
  • Develop a playbook in order to execute branch activities. 
  • Expand our stocking distribution footprint with key National and Regional Accounts Provide current market information such as current trends, sales techniques, application of products in various markets, suggested marketing programs to the Marketing Department.
  • Implement all promotional programs for National and Regional Accounts.
  • Build relationships with the Key executive influencers and the CxO level individuals within assigned accounts and within the building materials industry. 
  • Create and execute, with your own resources, promotion plans for customers and measure results. 
  • Consistently support the DECRA strategic plan.
