The Requirements
To be a good fit for the Body Shop Technician role, you will have:- A high school diploma or GED.
- Between 4 and 5 years of related experience and/or training.
- Basic hand tools you bring to work every day or leave at the shop.
- An Associate’s Degree and/or technical certifications are strongly preferred.
- Possess a valid driver’s license and be able to meet company insurance standards.
- Be able to regularly lift or move 50 pounds and occasionally lift or move up to 75 pounds.
The Role
As a Body Shop Technician for Dickinson Fleet Services, your primary responsibility will be efficiently repairing body damage to vehicles in accordance with factory and dealership specification standards. More specifically, you will:- Repair vehicles, based on the provided estimate while upholding factory standards.
- Check parts against the estimate to ensure the proper items are both ordered and received.
- Prep vehicles for body work.
- Notify management in a timely manner, should an obstacle surface that could either affect quality or extend the promise time of the repair.
- Maintain company tools and equipment to ensure proper working order.
- Adhere to requirements for wearing safety equipment, including respirators, and ensure all items are properly maintained.
- Comply with all laws and regulations pertaining to paint, thinners, and other hazardous materials. Any deviation must be reported to management immediately.
- Cooperate and assist other personal in the repair and preparation of vehicles.
- Keep up to date and comply with all federal, state, and local regulations for matters affecting body shop operations such as hazardous waste disposal, OSHA policies, etc.
