OPERATIONS MANAGER

Stamping plant specializing in automotive parts seeks experienced manager.  Ideal candidate will have experience with automotive part stamping operations and assembly cells. Prior operations manager experience or manufacturing engineer degree is required. Ability to lead others for an effective workforce.  In addition, the candidate will have a positive can-do attitude capable of team building, motivating the workforce, project management and cost containment. 

This position will plan, direct and coordinate manufacturing activities and company facilities to maximize customer and employee satisfaction, cost effectiveness, quality and timely delivery.

  1. Coordinate, supervise, and direct the efforts of the General Manager, Program Managers, Department, and Leaders to ensure that product is shipped on-time, within budget and customer commitments are met.
  2. Develop, implement and monitor manufacturing operating policies, procedures, budgets and forecasts.
  3. Select, train, develop and motivate a workforce that meets or exceeds expectations.
  4. Maintain the facility and work environment that is conducive to an effective employee/management team and complies with Federal, State and local health and safety regulations.  This includes ensuring all equipment is well maintained, in a safe condition and operated in a safe manner.  It also includes OSHA records and reviewing all safety related items with each new employee and holding periodic safety meetings.
  5. Ensure that customer satisfaction is maximized through on time delivery, adherence to quality standards and development of effective customer relations.
  6. Recommend the purchase of items and equipment that will improve the safety, productivity, motivation and quality of work life for shop personnel.
  7. Maintain adequate written records of apprentices and other shop personnel and assist the General Manager in recommending training levels.  Also ensure that Die Leaders and Department Leaders keep those records as well.
  8. Act as the customer interface for production matters, run-offs and problems as they arise.
  9. Schedule the manufacturing facility work hours, both weekly and longer range by considering workloads and customer schedules and commitments.
  10. Support the product whenever and wherever required and any other duties or projects as assigned.
