The Requirements
To meet the basic qualification for this role, you will have legal authorization to work permanently in the United States for any employer without requiring a visa transfer or visa sponsorship. In addition, to be a good fit for the Financial & Business Analyst, Portfolio Operations opportunity, you will have:- A bachelor's degree, preferably in Business, Real Estate, Accounting or Finance, or an equivalent combination of education and experience; a master's degree is a plus
- 3 to 5 years of related experience in commercial property management or asset management, private equity, accounting, consulting and/or financial reporting, including:
- Exceptional analytical abilities, including advanced skills in MS Excel (pivot tables, VLOOKUP, etc.)
- Strong understanding of financial terms and principles and the ability to analyze financial statements

- Familiarity with enterprise software systems (ERP, CRM, etc.); experience with Yardi or similar property management software is a plus
- The ability to express ideas clearly verbally and in writing, including the capability to:

- Strong organizational and time management skills, and a detail orientation
- Strong interpersonal skills, a polished professional demeanor and a "commercial" mindset

The Role
Internally your title will be Assistant Real Estate Manager (AREM) but, while most AREMs in the company have a local focus, you will provide insights at a regional level. In fact, the region includes Chicago and Toronto as well as the entire eastern seaboard.You will assist with and support the operations, business and financial responsibilities of the properties within the region, providing various financial analysis, reporting, and budgeting/re-forecasts. A large component of the position will involve special projects and coordination with the property teams and corporate initiatives. Special projects will be diverse and may involve working on specific property-level projects such as capital budgeting and P&L research, supporting regional leaders with resource planning, developing PowerPoint decks for regional meetings and financial reporting, sourcing and evaluating vendors, trend analysis, etc.
More specifically, you will:
- Work closely with the Director and Real Estate Manager teams to perform and meet annual business, lease and customer goals
- Support or perform internal property-level profit and loss reporting, and variance analysis; assist in the preparation of financial budgeting, forecasts, expense analysis and accruals, and true-ups; establish, reconcile and administer estimated/actual recoveries; and administer and support other property management reporting and analysis requirements Quick question for you - click here
- Maintain accurate and pertinent information, contracts, lease, addendums, contract service reports, contact lists, etc.
- Prepare correspondence, memos, presentations and reports
- Establish and maintain positive and productive working relationships with colleagues, customers, vendors, partners and others
- Support regional administrative office responsibilities such as equipment/supply ordering, managing service vendors and organizing meetings; provide property-level support in the areas of AR, AP and vendor management as needed
