Medical Director
Location: Charleston, IL
The Medical Director’s primary responsibilities include: supervision of staff physicians and nurse practitioners, providing leadership in the development of medical treatment policies and procedures, making recommendations related to campus medical and public health concerns, performing medical exams and treatment of patients, serving as a medical spokesperson regarding campus medical issues, and collaborating with on and off-campus entities. The medical director reports to the Director, Health and Counseling Services.
Minimum requirements include possession of a MD (Doctor of Medicine) and/or a DO (Doctor of Osteopathic Medicine); Possess or be eligible to possess a current license to practice or to be eligible to practice within Illinois; Possession of or eligibility of an appropriate state prescribing license and federal Narcotics and Dangerous Drugs License; Board Certification or Board Eligible in a Primary Care Specialty; Knowledge of electronic health record, preferably Medicat; and experience working with Mid-Level Providers. Three (3) or more years' experience as a college health physician in a student health service; Related management, leadership, and administrative experience; Evidence of supervising other physicians and medical staff; Demonstrated knowledge of current college health and medical issues as evident by professional affiliations, professional development; experience with primary care psychiatry, adolescent medicine, sports medicine; and experience with an Accredited Association (AAAHC, etc.).
