We produce high-quality hair extensions, wigs, hairpieces and systems under iconic brands including Great Lengths, Raquel Welch, Hairdo, The Christie Brinkley Collection by Hair2wear, Gabor, POP Put on Pieces and American Hairlines. HairUWear products are made with the finest human and synthetic hair. We are seeking a full-time Senior Designer to join our team. 

The Senior Designer is part of the Product Design Department and reports directly to the VP of Production and Design. The Senior Designer is responsible for defining, developing and delivering extraordinary hair products including, but not limited to: wigs, hairpieces, extensions, hair volumizers and non-surgical hair replacement that give a competitive advantage to the organization. Principal

Duties and Responsibilities: 

• Monitor hair and fashion trends both domestically and internationally and anticipate styles that will appeal to consumers 

• Have input on themes for various collections 

• Work with other designers and team members to create prototype designs 

• Visit customers and trade shows to get feedback on current offerings and input on what products are currently needed in the market place 

• Oversee the final production of designs by visiting factories in countries such as Bangladesh, China and Indonesia to ensure production processes meet our quality control standards, appointed manufacturers are following social compliance and other mandatory criteria 

• Work with customers, distributors and overseas importers to develop products suited to their particular markets 

• On-going involvement with Educators to develop content for consumer education of new and existing products 

• Promote company products through special event appearances, live demonstrations on shopping channels (HSN, QVC etc.) both domestically and internationally 

• Investigate potential new manufacturers suited to our needs 

• Ability to travel on a flexible schedule both domestically and internationally 

Required Skills: 

• 10 years' experience in Hairdressing or hair goods related industry 

• Design 

Knowledge of hair goods design including but not limited to; construction methods, color creation, raw material sourcing etc. involved in production of hair goods 

• Experience in front of camera; both video and live television 

• Ability to travel (30-40%) both domestically and internationally (Europe, SE Asia, China and Bangledesh).
