Patent Attorney - Oil & Gas

Global oil & gas company is seeking an IP Counsel / Patent Attorney to join the legal team on a 12 month+ contract based in central London.

Under the direction of the Associate General Counsel of their downstream business you will be responsible for:

- management of worldwide patent prosecution matters (covers lubricants, fuels, chemicals)

- day to day running of patent portfolios including advising on patent filing strategies, queries from inventors, and drafting new patent applications

- supervision of a trainee patent attorney

- preparation of submissions for European patent oppositions and proceedings

- general advisory to the business

To be considered for this position you will be a qualified Patent Attorney or IP Lawyer with previous experience in a similar role within the energy or chemicals industry. You will have worked on global matters, preferably managed or mentored junior attorneys and handled complex case load.
