Job Description

A large MSG has an immediate opening for a hospital-based, non-interventional cardiologist.
BC fellowship-trained cardiologist devoted to the inpatient consultative services at two hospitals. Both hospitals have non-invasive cardiology departments, offering EKG, echocardiography, Holter monitoring, nuclear stress testing, Intensive Care Units, and cardiac telemetry. Both hospitals have cardiac catheterization labs and one has facilities for coronary interventions, electrophysiology, open heart surgery, trans-aortic valve procedures. Each hospital team includes a cardiac nurse practitioner.
The successful candidate would see new and follow-up consults, both on the floors and in the Emergency Department and should be qualified to interpret EKG, Holter, echocardiograms, and cardiac stress tests. Coronary (catheterization) interventions are not required, but duties may require placement of temporary pacing wires, management of CHF, dysrhythmias, acute myocardial infarctions, and acutely-ill cardiac patients. Training in the management of intra-aortic assist devices (IABP) and Impella devices would be desirable. Patients are generally admitted and discharged by Group's Hospitalists. Specialty coverage includes a team of fellowship-trained Vascular Surgeons.
The established Cardiology Division consists of 5 Physicians covering a thriving outpatient practice and seeing inpatient consults at the two local hospitals.
Fellowship Trained, BC Cardiologist, MA Medical License
