The Product Manager/Product Owner is responsible for providing advanced level subject matter expertise around his/her assigned Application Module(s). First and foremost, this position is responsible for acquiring and maintaining a deep understanding of their assigned Module - Payroll. For the assigned Module, this job also involves building and maintaining accurate and complete user stories that can be delivered to a sprint team for development, working and handling bugs through tickets that are managed effectively, providing support to internal teams, and fulfilling Professional Services engagements for customers and partners.

 

Job Duties:
• Create and maintain the Product Backlog
• Prioritizes and sequences the Backlog according to business value or ROI
• Writes product requirements for utilization in an Agile-Scrum methodology
• Conveys the Vision and Goals at the beginning of every Release and Sprint
• Represents the customer, interfaces and engages the customer
• Participates in the daily Scrums, Sprint Planning Meetings and Sprint Reviews and Retrospectives
• Inspects the product progress at the end of every Sprint and has complete authority to accept or reject work done.
• Participation in planning and course correction of the project at the end of every Sprint
• Communicates status externally

 

General Job Requirements:
• Act as a Product Manager/Product Owner and Subject Matter Expert (SME) within the InfinityHR application for our payroll products
• Evaluate data and insights for comprehensive strategy planning
• Research trends in the market and provide recommendations for Product Improvements
• Establish timelines and product benchmarks
• Develop data and analytics roadmap
• Consolidate data into quality user stories and necessary product requirements
• Establish initiatives and align with cross-functional goals
• Collaborate with UI/UX team, product scrum team, and product leaders to establish timeline workflows and goals
• Ensure product aligns with company mission and goals
• Work with Scaled Agile framework to ensure data is secure
• Responsible for ownership of product voice and vision
• Participate in QA and testing when assigned module updates occur
• Manage and update internal help documentation around module as needed
• Support client-facing team members with complex issues in a timely manner
• Other Duties as Assigned

 

Qualifications:
• Payroll background required; HRIS background preferred.
• Bachelor’s (BA or BS) in business, computer science, or related field; master’s preferred
• Two years previous experience as a product owner, business analyst, or in a related field
• Agile Scrum experience preferred.
• Experience with Team Foundation Services (TFS), Jira, or similar tool.
• Contributes to team effort by accomplishing related results as needed.
• Certification for Pragmatic Marketing or Product Ownership preferred but not required
• Solid understanding of the product lifecycle
• In-depth understanding of Agile methodologies, technical understanding of products, and up-to-date on industry standards and best practices
• Proficient computer skills, Microsoft Office Suite (Word, PowerPoint, Outlook, and Excel); working knowledge of software development
• Comfortable working with multiple teams, in-house and remote
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills
• Accurate and precise attention to detail
• Able to build strong interpersonal relationships with business analysts, UI/UX team, leadership, senior management, and internal and external stakeholders
