K-12 Teacher General Job Description

Required:
- Current endorsement on a valid Colorado License in the area of job title.

- Demonstrated skills and abilities to ensure the success of all students.

- Demonstrated skill in designing and implementing appropriate instruction for students in the content areas required.

- Excellent communication skills in order to facilitate communication with all members of the community, special ed. team members, classroom teachers, students, parents and administrators.

- Demonstrated ability in providing differentiation, interventions and extensions for students.

- Effective collaboration with teammates.

- Demonstrated commitment to team work and systemic programs.

- Demonstrated ability to manage an effective classroom that results in student achievement.

- Demonstrated knowledge of standards-based lesson plans.

- Demonstrated ability to embed technology in curriculum content areas.
Additional Information

We are seeking a dynamic Social Studies teacher who is passionate about teaching and who believes in high academic standards for all students. This position requires commitment to alternative educational approaches for adult students (ages 18 +), teamwork, and a thorough knowledge of Jeffco's High School Social Studies curriculum.

Designs, modifies, and implements Social Studies curricula in a creative manner and meets the needs of various learning styles represented in the classroom

Teaches a variety of thematic social studies classes throughout the semester such as Terrorism, Criminal Law, Minority Studies, Stock Market, Conservation, etc.
