Software Systems Engineer

My Client require a software systems engineer to support their Proton Beamlines and the scientists responsible for the operations of the facilities.The beamlines are operated through a distributed control system based on the EPICS toolkit.

The engineer will join an existing team of controls engineers and be responsible for:

*Integrating new devices and instrumentation into the control system

*Maintaining the existing systems

*Liaising with the scientists to understand requirements

*Collaborating with other on-site software groups to deliver a full controls and data-acquisition system.

The requested core skills include: use of and development for the Unix or the Linux platform, C code and python scripting. Knowledge of the EPICS toolkit, motion and instrumentation control are desirable.
