Position Summary 

Lochridge-Priest is a family owned and operated company that has served the Central Texas area for over 50 years. Also, we are the largest provider of residential and commercial heating and air-conditioning services as well as plumbing services in Central Texas. We have recently expanded our electrical and building automation service areas. We have our own Engineering team and a sheet metal shop, Advanced Sheet Metal. The Senior Mechanical Engineer’s role is to take the lead on projects as the Engineer of Record and delegate tasks on these projects to Mechanical EITs as needed. The Engineer will attend project meetings, develop relationships with architects, owners, and subcontracted engineers, and manage the accurate completion of all projects assigned. The Engineer will assist in the documentation of procedures and building of template libraries to further the engineering department. Support for other departments (drafting, project management, etc.) may be required as well.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

  • Ensures timely completion of assigned projects and with complete customer satisfaction.
  •  Coordinate with other trades during design including any subcontracted engineers.
  • Plans and analyzes assigned projects, establishes schedules and project parameters, and sets procedures to accomplish system objectives.
  • Establishes professional relationships and effectively communicates with all those involved in the project.
  • Emphasizes and demonstrates commitment to a safe work environment.
  • Informs senior management of any issue or concern prior to the issue putting the company at risk.
  • Enhance detail and specification libraries and calculation spreadsheets.

 

Additional Qualifications

  •  BS or MS in Engineering.
  •  PE license holder.
  •  Proficient user of the REVIT, AutoCad, and HVAC load calculation software as well as experience with Adobe and Microsoft Office products.
  • Ability to interpret engineering, architectural, and construction plans, and knowledge of building and mechanical codes is required.
  • Familiarity of HVAC and plumbing, and materials and construction methods used for various applications.
  • Flexible and works well in a fast-paced, high-stress environment.
  •  Works well under pressure particularly when faced with unexpected events, delays, tight timelines or urgent demands.
  • Exceptional oral and written communication skills - able to present information in an effective manner to a variety of audiences.
  • Thorough in completing tasks, and focused on detail and accuracy.
  • Exceptional organizational and multi-tasking abilities.
  • Works with a high level of integrity and ethical business practices.
