Visiting Assistant Professor of Social Work Department of Social Work and Communication Sciences and Disorders Full-time, One-year, Non-tenure Track, Instructional Faculty Position #F0197 A comprehensive university with a strong liberal arts foundation, Longwood has a distinctive mission to develop citizen leaders who are prepared to make positive contributions to the common good of society. Longwood's 26th President, W. Taylor Reveley IV, took office in June 2013. The Social Work program is an integral part of the College of Education and Human Services, offering BA and BS degrees in Social Work for over 40 years. Longwood's Social Work Program is fully accredited by the Council on Social Work Education (CSWE) and prepares generalist, entry level Social Work Practitioners. The programs serves approximately 100 students, with the potential for growth in the number of students served and growth in program offerings. The program invites applications for a one-year, non-tenure track faculty member. This position requires the skills, knowledge, and abilities to teach undergraduate social work courses that focus on generalist social work practice. The applicants must possess a Master's Degree in Social Work from a CSWE- accredited program. Ph.D. preferred, ABD's considered. A significant amount of post M.S.W. practice experience and teaching experience in a CSWE- accredited program is preferred. Experience providing training and workshops may substitute for teaching experience. Applicants must show clear evidence of excellence in teaching, service and scholarship.
