Medical Doctor Associates (MDA) is looking for 2 Locum Tenens (LT) nocturnists for the Tampa, Florida area.

6 patients per day, 8 hour shifts, M-Th, either 3p-11p, or 11p-7a. Must be comfortable with intubations An observational unit is being opened on August 7th, leaving a need to bring in two individuals prior to that to allow for training, onboarding, etc.

II. Job Summary:
Practices medicine within the scope of authority and privileges granted by Moffitt Cancer Center. Provides patient care under the auspices of Moffitt Medical Group, and serves as member of the academic medical enterprise; advancing the institutional mission of contributing to the prevention and cure of cancer.


III. Job Relationships:
Reports to Department Chair/Program Leader, IHM


IV. Duties & Responsibilities
1. Maintains requirements for medical staff membership and clinical privileges within the Cancer Center.
2. Adheres to all medical staff bylaws, rules, and regulations.
3. Functions as a member of an interdisciplinary team, working with many specialists to coordinate and optimize patient care.
4. Involves Monday - Thursday weeknight shifts of either 15:00 to 23:00 or 23:00 to 07:00
5. Evaluation and monitoring of up to 6 observation patients per night. The majority of patients will be Breast, Endocrine, and Cutaneous with most common surgeries requiring 23hr observation stay. Includes mastectomy +/- reconstruction, total thyroidectomy, axillary and inguinal lymphadenectomy. Most patients are post operative from our McKinley outpatient surgical center.

2. Meets or exceeds all documentation and communication requirements essential for safe and effective patient care, as determined by the Cancer Center.
3. Develops and maintains collegial relationships within and outside the Cancer Center.
4. Maintains a collaborative rapport with all constituents.


VI. Qualifications:
Education/Licensure:
· MD or Equivalent
· Board certified (or eligible)
· Florida Medical License
· DEA License
· ACLS required.

Experience: Previous experience in the management of the perioperative or oncological patient medical consultative service required.
