- In depth understanding of RF and EM theory and design
- In depth understanding of MEMS design, operation and theory
- Experience in MEMS or Semiconductor device fabrication and/or packaging
- Demonstrated ability to design, simulate and characterize MEMS devices
- Proficiency with HFSS, ADS, or other similar RF EM simulation platform
- Experience using sound DOE practices with device design and characterization
- Ability to work in a multi-disciplinary team environment
- Excellent communication skills

The Role
OverviewReporting to the Director of Engineering, as Senior RF MEMS Design Engineer, you will be responsible for RF MEMS ohmic switch design and simulation in the development and advancement of Menlo’s RF MEMS switch process design toolkit (PDK). You will serve as a core member of the New Product Introduction (NPI) team responsible for new switch architecture through the development of new ohmic MEMS switch products. You will be directly involved in detailed 3D EM modeling, package modeling and co-design, hands-on characterization, and de-bugging of new device designs.
We work in an innovative and collaborative team environment supporting the product development team goal to deliver industry-leading products capable of both a broad frequency range (DC to 60GHz) and wide RF power handling up to 50dBm for both device and microsystem solutions.
Your Role
You will work on a highly productive team and interact daily with layout, process and test development engineers to ensure design solutions alignment. You will also work closely with early adopting customers to ensure upfront spec alignment and system integration success. This a hands-on role where you will be responsible for the development and timely delivery of innovative design rules that create a robust platform for horizontal RF MEMS technology and product development. More specifically, you will:
- Develop and deliver the innovative RF MEMS device design based on the company’s technology and its roadmap that enable horizontal product development
- Use ADS and EMPro 3D for RF MEMS device, package and microsystem design and simulation Quick question for you - click here
- Work with Technology team to develop and validate new technologies and design rules
- Develop bench level RF test element and device level test capability
- Work with customers to design, simulate and characterize innovate custom RF MEMS device concepts
- Work closely with technology team to transition new design rules and support product development
- Drive sound design methodologies for DOE style experimental practices
- Comply with all company quality and safety policies and procedures
