Our Wellness Center is located in the hospital and continuity of care is seamless. Preceptor is done on a rotation type system. Residents –are PGY 1,2 and 3 and usually several are in the Center at any given time. The clinic is open Monday to Friday (8:30 AM to 5:30 PM) and there is a late day on Thursday (10 AM to 6PM) There are no Saturday or Sunday hours. No OB is required.
The Inpatient unit is covered by the Core I.M. Physician and there is no Hospitalist service.
The hospital and Center use “E –Prescribe” via “All Scripts” and the documentation is paper. You will also have access to the Montefiore Library and the Montefiore Intranet for questions. Also, the Referral list and the Lab Results are electronic.
Preceptor experience and knowledge of HIV patient population is a plus. The Patient population mix is mostly blue collar with Caribbean, and Americans of African descent. This is primarily an English speaking mix.
