PROJECT DIRECTOR

LOCATION: Tucson, AZ

SUMMARY:

The Project Director (PD) oversees and insures the delivery of effective high impact HIV prevention services and interventions to community-based organizations (CBOs). The position facilitates learning through a variety of methods including person instruction, via individual and group learning experiences, and distance learning. The PD will be responsible for the coordination of all aspects of technical assistance and training development and implementation. The PD will report to the CEO. 

QUALIFICATIONS:

Preferred: Master’s degree in Public Health, Social Sciences, Health Education, and three years of related experience required.

Minimum: Bachelor’s degree in Public Health, Social Sciences, Health Education, and five years of relevant work experience required.

RESPONSIBILITES:

  • Coordinates the planning, implementation, and delivery of capacity building activities for community-based organizations.
  • Conducts organizational assessments and designs action plans for the implementation of capacity building services to include training and technical assistance.
  • Analyzes information to identify problems and challenges following assessment and develops a strategic action plan to support the capacity building needs of CBA clients.
  • Contributes towards the development and dissemination of resources (i.e. manuals, tools, information) and marketing messages to meet the needs of CBA recipients. 
  • Coordinates the logistics for training events.
  • Represents NCHP at various conferences, meetings and other events as assigned. 
  • Performs other administrative tasks and other duties as assigned.

  • Expertise in the area of sexual and reproductive health, HIV prevention and health equity.
  • Training and Facilitation skills.
  • Critical thinking and analysis skills.
  • Effective interpersonal communication skills, both written and verbal.
  • Problem analysis and problem solving.
  • Ability to direct a large grant funded program.
  • Working knowledge of Microsoft’s Work, Excel and Access software.
