SUMMARY:

 

Under limited supervision, to manage all aspects of the warehouse of NATIONAL ELECTRIC SUPPLY, Inc. ensuring the efficient distribution and inventory of all NATIONAL ELECTRIC SUPPLY products. This position reports to the VP/General Manager.

 

 

DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

 

  1. Responsible for all warehouse personnel which typically includes recommendations for hiring, firing, performance evaluation, training, work allocation, and problem resolution.

2.Analyzes freight costs, negotiate prices and discounts with freight companies to ensure company profitably.

3.Perform standard inventory control functions as required to maintain an accurate and efficient control of inventory.

4.Maintain warehouse in a safe, organized and clean manner.

5.Maintains warehouse equipment and perform related duties to ensure safe, reliable, and efficient use of all warehouse equipment, supplies and materials.

6.In-depth Product knowledge to ensure accuracy of specs, packaging, functionality and end-user requirements.  

7.Communicate as necessary in an efficient manner with sales and purchasing staff.

8.Ensure warehouse activities and processes are consistent with corporate quality program standards and objectives.

9.Utilizes SHIMS software with job-related functionality and authorization in the course of managing the warehouse, it's personnel and all job-related activities.

10.Other miscellaneous job-related duties as assigned.  

 

 

 

MINIMUM JOB REQUIREMENTS:

  • High School diploma or GED
  • 3 - 5 years warehouse experience directly related to the duties and responsibilities specified.
  • Minimum one (1) year supervisory or management experience.
  • Basic knowledge of computers.

 

 

 

KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, AND ABILITIES REQUIRED:

  • Organizational and coordinating skills.
  • Ability to communicate effectively, both orally and in writing.
  • Records maintenance skills.
  • Ability to supervise and train staff, including, organizing, prioritizing and scheduling of work assignments.
  • Knowledge of shipping and freight processes, regulations and procedures.
  • Knowledge of distribution warehouse processes and procedures.
  • Forklift certified.

 

 

WORKING CONDITIONS:

  • Work is normally performed in a warehouse environment with exposure to extreme temperatures, dirt, dust and fumes.
  • Moderate to extreme physical activity.  Requires handling of average-weight objects up to 25 pounds and occasionally objects of 75 pounds.
  • Moderate to extreme physical activity.  Requires standing and/or walking for more than four (4) hours per day.
