North Kitsap Fishline is excited to add the new position of Operations Director to its staff. Celebrating our 50th year of continuous operation, North Kitsap Fishline, (aka Fishline) provides service to over 4,000 clients, with a cadre of 250 volunteers processing close to 1,000,000 pounds of rescued food annually.
The successful candidate will help guide Fishline through its next phase of growth in order to help provide an expanded menu of social services for the greater Kitsap community from our Poulsbo campus.
Operational excellence delivered with a high level of both compassion and passion for the benefit of our clients, staff and volunteers will be the ultimate measure of success for the person assuming this new role.
Job Summary:
The Operations Director is responsible for the oversight and maintenance of the fiscal and operational performance of Fishline, reporting to the Executive Director and working in close collaboration with the Fishline management team and the Board of Directors, the Operations Director will be responsible for the day-to-day operation of Fishline's Food Bank, Comprehensive Services Center and our retail operations Second Season Thrift Store and Second Season Home Store.
Responsibilities:
Supervises all functions of our "Food Supply Chain" to include; warehousing, food distribution, inventory control, food purchasing and food resourcing.
Improve the operational systems, processes and policies in support of the organization's mission to include, management reporting, inventory systems, safety, service provisions and information management.
Provide management of and support for the Home Store and Second Season.
Manage relationships with external
partners and vendors.
Oversee financial management of the operation to include planning, budgeting and adherence to effective cost controls.
Oversee human resource functions to include payroll and benefits administration, staff training, and staff counseling.
Reconcile monthly activity and generate month end and year end reports.
Assist Executive Director and the Board in creating the annual organizational budget.
Ensure Fishline operates in full compliance with applicable regulations.
Working directly with the Fishline management team to collaboratively set organizational direction and strategy.
Qualifications:
Bachelor's degree in business, finance or logistics preferred.
At least three years' experience of progressive responsibility supporting the operation of a non-profit and/or for-profit business or agency.
Experience and knowledge designing and implementing for-profit internal controls and accounting guidelines.
Proven experience as Operations Director or equivalent position.
Able to communicate persuasively and effectively and listen actively.
Working knowledge of data analysis and performance metrics.
Excellent computer skills; proficient in, Excel, Word and QuickBooks.
Excels at operating in a fast paced, community-based environment.
