The New York State Department of Transportation, Region 5 Buffalo, has several openings with work locations throughout Western New York. Landscape Architect ($48,027-$79,577) Duties: Preparation and review of project documents for landscape development, environmental compliance, and for pedestrian and bicycle provisions. Preparation or review of various environmental assessments and permits. Review of consultant prepared documents. Attend meetings both in the office and with the public. Plant material inspection and approval. Curb ramp/sidewalk inspection and approval. Review highway work permits.

Senior Drafting Technician (Structures) ($42,986-$55,008) Duties: Prepare and/or review drawings for a variety of structural engineering projects using MicroStation CADD software. Prepare and check engineering computations. Prepare and check quantity estimates. Perform field investigations to collect or confirm data. Review shop drawings. Special assignments to address management needs.
