The Requirements

To meet the basic qualification for this role, you will have legal authorization to work permanently in the United States for any employer without requiring a visa transfer or visa sponsorship. In addition, to be a good fit for the Logistics Analyst opportunity, you will have:
  • A bachelor's degree from an accredited 4-year institution or equivalent work experience preferred
  • 2 to 3 years of experience in oil products inventory management, preferably including refined products as well as truck rack, rail and pipeline modes of transport
  • Knowledge of scheduling and volume actualization
  • The ability to reconcile volumetric inventory balances
  • Experience with inventory reconciliation and movement

  • Experience with Allegro or another energy trading and risk management (ETRM) tool is strongly preferred
  • SAP experience is a plus

The Role

Reporting to the Logistics Manager, you will join a team that includes another Logistics professionals focusing on crude oil logistics. You will focus on refined product logistics, leveraging your refining and commercial-related experience to support traders and Wyoming logistics operations by ensuring physical positions and inventory levels are accurate in the newly implemented trading system, Allegro.

We’re implementing the Allegro logistics, valuation, and settlements modules. Your contribution will be involved in user-acceptance testing, training, and go-live targeted for early summer. This will include establishing initial processes and relationships as well as continuing to refine efficiencies moving forward.

More specifically, you will:
  • Assume responsibility for scheduling and actualization of refined product movements in Allegro via multiple modes of transport Quick question for you - click here
  • Coordinate with Trading and Refinery Logistics Operations to understand physical movement of product to fulfill commercial obligations
  • Capture forecast/nomination of expected shipments and rack liftings
  • Monitor rack lifting interface from SAP involving resolution of errors
  • Track in-transit shipments to enable timely booking of actual purchase and sale activity
  • Reconcile system balances to third-party terminal statements on timely basis and record necessary gain/loss, intra-system transfers, and product regrades
  • Perform refinery consumption-production/charge and yield bookings
  • Verify and book third party terminal charges
  • Maintain pipeline tariff and truck freight rates in system
  • Coordinate with Settlements to facilitate accurate billing and payables
  • Perform month-end inventory reconciliation to SAP balances, working in conjunction with Inventory Accounting
  • Coordinate with Contracts and Master Data group to ensure Allegro master data is maintained effectively to facilitate interfaces to SAP
  • Perform SOX controls and maintain evidence of control for your area of responsibility
  • Maintain proper documentation to support quarter and year-end audit requests
  • Present and communicate initiatives, results and analyses to multiple levels of management
  • Handle special projects, as assigned
