THE OPPORTUNITY:

 

Located just blocks from LA LIVE! and STAPLES Center in downtown Los Angeles, 1150 S. Olive is a distinctive Los Angeles landmark that rises 32 stories with an illuminated penthouse crown. The LEED Platinum certified building offers a variety of unique settings for weddings, galas, fashion shows, film premieres and screenings, corporate events, live performances and celebrations.

 

 

THE POSITION SUMMARY:

 

The ideal candidate is a goal oriented individual with well-developed catering sales knowledge.  Ideal candidates will possess a strong work ethic and an eye for detail. The Catering Sales Manager will cultivate and execute strategic sales and marketing plans that will maximize food & beverage revenue through sales. We are searching for an energetic, personable, and process driven team member that will manage the special events and catering for the Bowers Museum, a trulyunique opportunity at a remarkable landmark location.

  • Excellent track record of exceeding budgets and guests expectations
  • Ability to create and sustain positive synergy with Patina Restaurant Group and any partnerships
  • Learn and utilize Reserve, following all the standards for entering sales activity and lead generation
  • Handle complaints regarding functions and take appropriate action to ensure client satisfaction
  • Excellent Knowledge of food, wine and spirits
  • Strong organizational skills, work habits and detailed follow-through
  • Excellent verbal and written communications skills
  • Ability to exercise effective judgment, sensitivity, and confidentiality
  • Ability to multi-task and work on broad variety of projects
  • Identify customer requirements and expectations relative to territory/unit
  • Strong clientele list is a plus
  • Focus on personal sales efforts to achieve maximum revenue return from Key Accounts and annual revenue goals as set each year
  • Use professional sales techniques to negotiate the best possible terms and conditions that satisfy customer (internal and external) requirements
  • Manage the customer decision and relationship process
  • Develop effective presentations (orally and written) where ideas, opinions, recommendations and conclusions are Strong understanding and expertise in the sales process
  • Flexibility to work a schedule that may include evening and weekends

 

You may be called upon from time to time to perform other duties that may not be included in your job description at management’s discretion.

 

 

 

THE REQUIREMENTS:

 

Education

College Degree in Hospitality/Hotel & Restaurant Management or equivalent work experience.

Must be able to speak, read, write and understand the primary language(s) of the work location and the guests who typically visit the work location.

Must know how to type on a computer and have knowledge of Word and Excel.

 

Experience

A minimum of 3 years experience in hospitality sales or equivalent experience.  Must possess a general knowledge of food and beverage procedures and controls as well as a complete awareness and ability to perform outlined responsibilities.

 

Physical

May require periods of prolonged sitting, bending, stooping and or stretching.  Position dictates eye-hand coordination and manual dexterity sufficient to operate calculator, computer keyboard, telephone and other office equipment. Normal range of hearing and eyesight is needed in order to record, prepare & submit appropriate reports.  Occasional light lifting (25lbs.) required. Position dictates that candidate work under stressful conditions and is subject to irregular hours.  Must be able to drive.
