Full Time position opening in Detroit Lakes, MN with a residential design build contractor.

Paul Davis, a design build general contractor specializing in residential lake properties surrounding Detroit Lakes is looking for an energetic, innovative architectural drafter. The drafter will play an integral role in the Paul Davis Customer experience, creating well designed and functional structures and spaces that meets and exceeds the clients needs.

Purpose of CAD Architectural Drafting and Design position includes defining the major components, attributes and adjacency of a space; creating a conceptual design and solution to a programming model that incorporates 3D designs, floor plans and elevations. Create final construction documents package ready for building.

Primary Responsibilities:

1. Meeting with clients and discussing design goals 
2. Site visit and field measurements
3. Identify potential issues to improve functionality
4. Consult with structural engineers as needed 
5. Integrating clients goals into design
6. Creating detailed design with Computer Aided Design (CAD) software
7. Review drawings with clients
8. Participate in the estimating process
9. Ensure final designs comply with regulations and quality standards
10. Finalize 3D design to create buildable plans to include cross sections, schedules and details needed 
11. Preparing final scope of work
12. Create workflow schedules for duration of project

Compensation ranges from $38,000 - $58,000 depending upon drafting and construction experience.
