The research laboratory of Dr. Sarah M. Assmann, at the Pennsylvania State University, seeks to hire an Assistant Research Professor. The successful candidate will perform biological research with a focus on plant abiotic stress tolerance. Topics of study include regulation of stress tolerance by heterotrimeric G proteins and the role of natural variation in shaping plant function at the molecular, cellular, and whole plant levels. The successful candidate will have proficiency in wet bench approaches to the above topics, will have demonstrated mastery of the R programming environment, and will have a strong record of publication in peer-reviewed journals. The successful applicant must have the ability to plan, execute, interpret, document, and troubleshoot independent research and to collaborate effectively with other computational and experimental members of a diverse research team. Excellent organization and verbal and written English communication skills are required.
