The Requirements

This position is offered to a mid-level (3-5 years) O365 Exchange engineer who is eager to help drive and support Polypore/Asahi Kasei migration to Microsoft O365 Exchange Online services. The ideal candidate will possess the following:

  • The ability to troubleshoot complex issues
Your core technical skills must include the following:
  • Minimum 3 years of extensive knowledge and recent Exchange online and Active Directory/ADFS experience
  • Hybrid Microsoft Exchange on Premise/Office 365 - Exchange Online
  • Designing enterprise-level solutions upon technical, application and business requirements
  • Knowledge to develop and execute complex deployment scenarios
  • Consulting to support hybrid platform solutions and platform rationalization
  • 3 years’ experience with PowerShell scripting required
  • Environmental changes – consolidation, platform upgrades, and divestitures of Exchange, Office 365/Exchange Online, and Active Directory platforms
  • Migrations from Exchange 2016 to Office365
  • MS Windows Server 2008/2012/2016
Additional technical skills and experience desired:
  • Microsoft OneDrive & other O365 products (Groups, Teams, Planner etc.)

The Role

Reporting to the Manager, Systems Administration, you will become a member of our global IT team. Your key objectives will include:
  • Supporting existing core platforms and custom solutions, and creating and assisting with the design of new ones. In particular you will support our migration to Office 365.
  • Participating in break/fix and providing level three support to Polypore and Asahi Kasei.
  • Ensuring effective provisioning, installation/configuration, operation, and maintenance of systems and software and related infrastructure.
  • Participating in technical research and development to enable continuing innovation within the infrastructure.
  • Ensuring that operating systems, software systems, and related procedures adhere to organizational values.
The role will involve daily administration responsibilities, such as maintenance, responding to escalated tickets, etc. However, you'll invest the largest part of your time in new builds.

More specifically, you will:
  • Design, document, maintain and deploy global back-office systems such as Exchange, Communication Services, System Center, Mobile Device Management, and Active Directory
  • Research and recommend innovative, and where possible, automated system administration tasks. This will include identifying approaches that leverage current resources and provide economies of scale
  • Provide proactive monitoring of Exchange, Active Directory, and other critical servers via SCOM.
  • Support RDS farms in Asia, Europe and the USA
  • Keep all services/servers up to date, through patching and maintenance
  • Build software packages and push to clients and servers
  • Maintain security, perform daily operational tasks, monitor system performance and stability
  • Assist in troubleshooting, root cause analysis, and ensure service availability
  • Provide technical consultation in new system implementations, new feature or function evaluations, and enhancement of existing systems
  • Participate in global project efforts
  • Provide Tier III/other support per request from various constituencies, and investigate and troubleshoot issues
