Salary Range:         $33,800 and up, annually

Position Type:        Exempt

Schedule:                 10 Month School Calendar for teachers

MAJOR FUNCTION:

The full time Technology Teacher will work with staff to deliver an integrated, K-8 technology program with an emphasis in technology instruction as outlined by the Colorado State Standards. The Technology Teacher regularly coordinates within staff, parents, and community to integrate and diversify technology instruction.

Student Instruction: 

  • Teaches 1st through 8th grade media literacy and technology courses in the Humanities rotation

  • How to be Cyber Smart by discussing Cyber Safety and Cyber Bullying

  • Basic and advanced mouse and keyboarding skills

  • Basic word processing, spreadsheet and presentation programs

  • Google software: Gmail, Google Docs, Google Sites, Google forms, Google Classroom

  • Internet instruction including safe search tools and strategies and note-taking skills

  • Basic Programming/Code

  • Basic CAD Programs

  • 3D-Printing

 

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

To perform this job successfully, an individual must have the requisite knowledge, skills, and ability to be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily. The requirements listed below are representative of the knowledge, skill and/or ability required. It is determined that in order to carry out the essential duties and responsibilities an individual must be able to work at a desk, conference table, or in meetings of various configurations; stand and circulate for extended periods of time; hear and understand speech at normal levels; see up close, at a distance, and have depth perception; communicate so others will be able to clearly understand normal conversations; bend and twist, stoop, kneel, run and crawl; reach in all directions; and lift and carry up to 25 pounds.

Note:  This position requires the ability to work occasional evenings to support all programs, field trips and to monitor students before/after school or during lunch and recess.  You must be able to work these hours in order to be considered for this position.

EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE:

 

MINIMUM REQUIRED:

  • 4 year degree from an accredited college or university

  • Technology Endorsement or approved hours in the content area

PREFERRED:

  • Colorado Teaching License

  • Previous experience teaching Technology Education at the K-8 level

  • Demonstrated technology proficiencies in the use of Microsoft Office, Internet, Simple Webpage building, Electronic Gradebook, and Email;

  • Demonstrated ability to work on a team
  • Verifiable experience dealing with conflict resolution;
  • Verifiable experience working in a position that required organizational and planning skills;
  • Demonstrated implementation and use of instructional strategies to promote student engagement
