Radio Frequency Engineer III

Sprint Corporation, Las Vegas, NV. Design, plan and oversee installation and maintenance of wireless radio communications systems. Req #235245BR. Provide radio frequency (RF) and/or wireless transmission design. Design, plan and oversee installation and maintenance of wireless radio communications systems, including radio propagation modeling and prediction, microwave path analysis, interference analysis, frequency coordination, cell site equipment layout, parameter definition, and ancillary equipment. Responsible for end-to-end RF optimization activities for Sprint’s LTE-FDD, LTE-TDD, CDMA, and EVDO networks. Serve as Subject Matter Expert in technologies such as CDMA, EVDO, LTE-FDD, LTE-TDD and VoLTE and provide recommendations for the network to ensure technical goals and business objectives are met. Responsible for network expansion and deployment, including ensuring coverage and capacity through addition of network nodes. Perform CDMA/EVDO/LTE optimization of multi-carrier and multi-band load equalization. Troubleshoot CDMA/EVDO/LTE worst KPI’s using Nokia tools such as NPO, SAMB, NetAct and Sprint tools such as PRTS, Tableau. Monitor daily/hourly statistics to identify cells that are performing badly and contributing towards the KPI’s degradation and resolve the issue. Perform drive test when required to identify external interference or to troubleshoot customer issues. Perform parameter optimization to improve customer experience by improving DL Throughput, BLER & MCS and thereby reduce market churn. Integrate new sites on both ALU and Nokia OEM’s from scratch, create yang files and implement locally at the eNodeb’s physical location. Troubleshoot RSSI and VSWR issues in the market and drive them towards the resolution. Activity interact with Sprint sales team to provide coverage enhancement solutions for new/existing customers there by reducing market churn and increase sales. Demonstrate good judgment in selecting methods and techniques for obtaining solutions. Actively communicate with all stake holders as key issues arise in new technologies or features become available for implementation. 

Basic Qualifications:

Bachelor's degree in Electronics Engineering, Electrical Engineering, or related and five years’ related work experience. Strong communication and presentation skills. Related experience should include: RF engineering experience working with radio communications systems, including radio propagation modeling and prediction, microwave path analysis, interference analysis, frequency coordination, cell site equipment layout and parameter definition; CDMA, LTE or EVDO experience (design, optimization and capacity) through RF Parameters, RF propagation, and Interference mitigation; OEM RAN specific experience with Samsung, Nokia, ALU & Ericsson such as vendor specific tools (NetaCT, SAM, LSMR etc), Hardware and software configurations for each OEM; Detailed Layer 3 Drive test data collection and analysis to drive network optimization and enhance performance; Ability to integrate ALU & Nokia eNodeB’s from scratch.
