    JOB SUMMARY AND MISSION

    The Starbucks mobile applications are used every day by hundreds of thousands of Starbucks customers, and the Android development team within Starbucks Global Digital Products is growing and innovating fast to deliver the best possible experience to everyone. We are seeking a full-time Application Developer II to join the team. As a member of the team, you will participate in assessing new projects and features for feasibility, write code for the latest features and for important bug fixes, and work to test and release those features to the public. This role requires a strong team player who has core Android development expertise, has built and deployed apps to the Android Store and has a desire to grow into a leader on the mobile development team.

    WHAT YOU WILL DO:

    • Build, iterate, and enhance the Starbucks Android application.
    • Partner closely with the design team to create an intuitively easy to use application for our users.
    • Optimize the existing code for ease of use and performance.

  • Qualifications

    TECHNICAL REQUIREMENTS:

    • 1-4 years’ software development experience
    • 2+ years of professional experience in developing Android mobile applications.
    • Expert understanding of Android SDK (Activity/Fragment Lifecycle, Services, Push, Location Services)
    • Experience building Android custom UI components.
    • Solid grasp of mobile networking concepts and RESTful API web services
    • Successfully released apps in the app store (please include names)
    • An understanding of mobile security best practices
    • Experience with Git or some other distributed version control system
