Taiyo Pacific Partners L.P. (TPP) is an investment management company focused on deploying a friendly activist investment strategy in highly concentrated portfolios of small-to-mid-sized Japanese public and private companies. Nearly 100% of the companies Taiyo invests in are in Japan. This position involves portfolio management, investment research using computer modeling (e.g. Discounted Cash Flow (DCF) model), management interaction, and professional networking, all of which involve extensive communication (telephone, emails, formal letters, and meetings) with Japanese businesses and clients in the US and Japan. Approximately 50% of daily work is conducted in the Japanese language. This is a senior-level position involving supervisory and leadership responsibilities. Involves approximately 25% domestic and international travel.

Minimum Requirements:

Bachelor’s degree in Business, Economics, Finance or equivalent foreign degree, and 5 years of progressive investment or banking advice/consulting experience including business development with use of quantitative skills including financial modeling (e.g. DCF models); financial analysis to assess impacts from various business events; and managing project funds and related financials. Professional-level fluency in Japanese (reading, writing, verbal) is required.
