Job Description
Day time positions 5am-3pm. Times can change depending on jobs we have at the moment. Required: experience with air drop, press and hydaulic hammers, be able to operate hammer at a fast rate, forging parts anywhere from 8 seconds to 30 seconds per part. Pay rate can range from $14-$20/hr depending on experience and how interview goes.
Team member's role and responsibilities:
- Produce quality forgings, to ensure that proper steel has been brought to the hammer by checking tags and codes prior to running the job.
- Direct hammer crew in making a die change in a quick and efficient manner.
- Train hammer crew in any of the areas that will make that crew member a more efficient contributor.
- Strive constantly to improve skills in terms of making good parts and making die changes in a smooth and efficient manner.
- Work closely with production foreman and QC personnel to quickly resolve problems that impact quality with a minimum of down time and scrap parts.
- Train and instruct crew in ways of doing their jobs in a better and safer way.
- Constantly monitor steel temperature and tags on steel.
- Be responsible for all process controlled defects; to ensure that forgings are produced to all of our customer requirements.
Rookie requirements:
- Complete training modules HCRW, HMSU, HAMR, ROLL, TEMP, LETR, IHCC and HMCS
Physical activity involved:
- Prolonged periods of standing and maneuvering piece of hot steel with pair of tongs.
- A lot of arm movement, twisting, shifting, lifting.
- Extensive periods of standing and stooping, lifting, pulling, pushing, reaching, and bending from waist down.
- Hot heavy work.
- Any lifting over 50 pounds use crane or hoist or ask for help.
