About Us: Turning Winds Academic Institute is a relational-based, premier therapeutic boarding school for teenagers 13-18 who are struggling with self and/or others.  We specialize in providing superior treatment for the following presenting issues:  low self-worth; mild behavioral problems; poor academic performance; various adolescent disorders which may include ADD/ADHD, depression, various addictions and attachment disorders. 

Our mission is to Rescue teens from crisis, Renew their belief in their own potential and Reunite them with their family and a sustainable path of success.   Our campus is located in a rural environment on 150 acres of tranquil property nestled amongst the Kootenai National Forest in Troy, Montana. 

Summary of Position: Turning Winds Academic Institute is seeking a Full-time Licensed Counselor, Clinical Social Worker, Marriage and Family Therapist, or Substance Abuse Counselor who loves the outdoors and is passionate about making a difference in the lives of struggling teens.   In this position, you will be required to have the ability to work collaboratively with all aspects of the treatment team that may include teachers, administrators, parents, resident advisors, doctors, nurses and any or all other key personnel. 

Primary Responsibilities include:

1. Lead individual therapy; creative groups; and family therapy/counseling
2. Proficient in documentation for treatment plans and clinical notes for insurance billing.
3. Ability to provide on-call for clinical and crisis management
4. Ability to provide support for staff training, campus tours, workshops
5. Support activities outside of counseling

Knowledge, Skills & Abilities

1. Must hold a minimum of a Master’s Degree in relevant counseling field; be licensed or be eligible to receive licensure in the state of Montana.
2. Must have a minimum of three years’ experience in working with adolescents.
3. Must be comfortable and fluent in utilizing technology, ie. Excel, Best Notes, Word, Coding for documenting treatment plans and notes.
4. Ability to relate positively, effectively and professionally with residents, families, referring professionals, community members and other facility staff. Possess special interest in, and a positive attitude about, working with struggling teens
5. Must be organized with excellent verbal and written communication skills

Compensation

1. Salary of $45,000.00 - $55,000.00/ year DOE
2. Three weeks paid vacation time
3. Insurance compensation
4. Meals and limited housing available
5. 3-4 day work schedule
