Role of the Position:

The Senior Academic Advisor position exists in order to provide academic advising and major/career planning for undergraduate students in the College of Sciences, as well as information to prospective students and community members about the college and its mission. This position will support all academic advising initiatives and play a role in the implementation, execution, and data-based reporting of the college's RPC (retention, completion, and progression) programs, especially as they relate to cooperating with other advising centers and departments across campus.

Qualifications:

This position requires a Bachelor's degree (Master's degree preferred) from a regionally accredited college or university and three years of related professional experience with three years of related professional experience as well as a proven ability to serve students in academic, social, and professional development capacities. Excellent speaking/writing skills and a background higher education is needed to perform at a high level in a fast paced academic advising center.

A solid working knowledge of software programs such as Student Success Collaborative (Campus Connect), MyUNLV (PeopleSoft), MyAnalytics, Gmail, Google Docs, Microsoft Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Publisher; Blackboard, Canvas, Qualtrics (survey tools), Doodle Poll, shared calendars, and presentation & design software such as Prezi and other software is desired.

Salary Range: Salary competitive with those at similarly situated institutions. Position is contingent upon funding.
