The University of North Dakota College of Business and Public Administration (CoBPA) is seeking a 9-month tenure-track, Assistant Professor within the Department of Accountancy starting in Fall 2019.

The Department of Accountancy is a well-established program with the sixth oldest active chapter of Beta Alpha Psi. The department includes faculty in the accounting, business law, and information systems disciplines. Accounting degrees granted include bachelor of accountancy and master of accountancy degrees. Alumni of the department's undergraduate and graduate accounting programs include partners in public accounting firms, CFOs and CEOs of major corporations, and executives at distinguished non-profits. The department and college support research activity at the highest level. CoBPA is accredited by AACSB.

Position Description, Duties, & Responsibilities
The successful candidate will serve as an Assistant Professor of Accountancy, with primary responsibilities in teaching, research, and service/outreach. As a member of the Department, the successful candidate will teach two courses in the departmental curriculum per semester, will develop a research program resulting in high quality academic publications, and participate in professional and Departmental/University outreach and service activities. The successful candidate will possess strong communication and organizational skills and develop and maintain positive professional relationships with students, colleagues, and business professionals. This position aims to recruit an assistant professor of accountancy with the capacity to produce high quality research through expertise in data-driven research, especially that aligned with the Grand Challenges of the UND Strategic Plan. Minimum Requirements:

Ph.D. in Accounting from an AACSB accredited program (ABD with expected completion prior to August 15, 2019 is acceptable), or a Ph.D. in a data analytics-related discipline from an institution with AACSB accredited programs (ABD with expected completion prior to August 15, 2019 is acceptable) and an undergraduate or graduate degree in Accounting.


Preferred Skills/Desirable Qualifications:

Research with publications and/or evidence of the potential to publish in high quality journals.
Demonstrated teaching effectiveness, especially online and graduate level teaching.
Evidence of the potential to develop and teach data analytics courses for an accounting curriculum.
Professional certification(s) in accounting including CPA, CMA, and/or CISA.
Professional experience in accounting and/or data analytics.
Evidence of the potential to contribute to the UND Grand Challenges.
