The Requirements

To meet the basic qualification for this role, you will have legal authorization to work permanently in the United States for any employer. In addition, to be a good fit for the Senior Manager, Global Financial Systems opportunity, you will have:
  • A bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Finance, Management Information Systems or another closely related field
  • A minimum of 7 to 10 years' experience in large scale global systems support, including:
    • Strong experience in and functional knowledge of financial processes and monthly, quarterly, and yearly close cycles
    • Experience in supporting Oracle Hyperion technologies, including Essbase, Planning, HFM, and FDM; implementation experience is strongly preferred
    • Strong business knowledge and process design skills, and experience directly overseeing significant projects/implementations
  • Experience in financial reporting, metrics and key finance performance indicators
  • Experience supporting ERP systems, ideally including QAD
  • Knowledge of financial reporting controls, ideally including SOX
Just as important will be the following competencies and characteristics:
  • Proven strong leadership skills, including the ability to manage change and process improvements effectively
  • Strong organizational skills
  • The ability to:
    • Interact effectively and build relationships across all levels in multiple functional areas
    • Work with technical (IT) on-shore/off-shore teams
    • Achieve goals independently and contribute as a team player
    • Multi-task and work under tight deadlines
  • Excellent interpersonal, communication and presentation skills
Experience with the following is preferred but not required:
  • Hyperion EPM tool set, including Planning & Essbase

The Role

Reporting to the Senior Director/Corporate Controller, you will lead a Financial Systems team that includes strong core resources and will continue to evolve. As a member of Corporate Finance, you will be responsible for service delivery across a variety of technology initiatives in support of financial reporting processes and systems; including HFM, QAD, and the Company’s new cloud based lease accounting software, etc.

The systems include applications and tools that support forecasting, budgeting, month end reporting, key metrics and dash-boarding, general ledger, reconciliations and consolidated global reporting. You'll coordinate with IT leadership to ensure the Financial Systems roadmap fits into the overall IT roadmap and budget. In addition, you'll leverage your finance knowledge to improve upon existing HFM reporting preventive controls and HFM planning tool capabilities.

Some changes are already under way or in the queue:
  • We recently implemented a new version of HFM, Planning, and reconciliation tool, and you'll lead efforts to mature the system, including finding ways to make the best use of it
  • Over the next two to three years we'll execute an upgrade to our ERP system, QAD EE
  • Developing and implementing dashboards and scorecards
We have some additional ideals and we'll welcome your suggestions:
  • Looking at ways to integrate bots
  • Developing a master data management system
  • Insuring strong integration of the more transactional systems with the Hyperion suite of tools
More specifically, you will:
  • Lead Oracle Hyperion, enterprise resource planning (ERP) system, and reporting tools with limited supervision and in line with global IT strategy
  • Collaborate effectively and actively with Corporate Finance and business unit VPs, Finance, Procurement, and other corporate business partners to identify future state needs and streamlining of systems, processing, data warehousing and reporting, including key metrics dashboards
  • Work with Finance Business Partners to define and execute a short and long-term goals
  • Oversee the training of global financial system users as applicable
  • Cross-train your team to ensure coverage when someone is out
  • Serve as point of contact from a financial system application perspective
  • Manage fiscal budget for application enhancements / support projects
  • Manage and support interfaces to / from applications from a day to day perspective as well as large scale projects that impact the globe or a specific region
  • Support quarterly Sarbanes Oxley testing of applications and document changes for internal audit teams as well as the annual external audit process
