Registered Veterinary Technician

FULL TIME and PART TIME position of VETERINARY TECHNICIAN is available at our Veterinary Hospital in Whittier, California. We at Whittier Dog and Cat Hospital are looking for knowledgeable and committed individuals, who have some experience in as a Veterinary technician.

Our technicians play an extremely vital role in patient care, and we are in need of an experienced technician, RVT would be a plus.  

An ideal candidate would be someone who understands the value of delivering high quality veterinary care to our clientele and their pets.  We pride ourselves on providing comprehensive, integrated, and advanced medical and surgical care along with our entire staff.

Our hospital is located In Whittier, California and is very close to uptown Whittier.  We are now actively seeking to add to our Veterinary Client Care team and we offer a competitive salary with hospital discounts for personal pets, and more! 

Job description may include, on a daily basis triage patients, calculate medical dosages and administer medications, run in-house lab work, monitor and ensure your patient’s comfort.  Update clients on their pet’s progress (per doctor’s instructions) while maintaining a positive attitude and professional demeanor.

Necessary skills and abilities include:

• Ability to offer outstanding and consistent client service
• Ability to lift up to 50#
• Ability to physically and comfortably interact with animals
• Excellent communication and time management skills
• Take a thorough and complete history on patients
• Phlebotomy
• IV, IM and SQ injections – IV placement skills
• Knowledge of Idexx Catalyst and Pro Cyte blood machines
• Use and maintenance of anesthetic machine
• Dentals
• Radiology
• Anesthetic induction and procedure monitoring

Monday through Friday 7:30am - 8pm 
Saturday 7:30am - 4pm
Sunday 10am - 3pm

We are a full service Animal Hospital located in uptown Whittier, California

We are looking for RVT (full time position)

The candidate should be capable of all the responsibilities of a Registered Veterinary Technician as well as the basic technician job: Taking and handling the digital radiographs, venipuncture, lab diagnostics, bandaging, monitoring hospitalized pets, emergency care, maintaining cleanliness throughout the hospital. Put the IV catheters, surgical prep, dental cleanings, monitoring anesthesia, recovery and good quality patient care of the in house and hospitalized medical cases.
