Ecommerce Technology Director

Industry leading entertainment company is looking for a Director of Ecommerce Technology to lead all website development and technical operations for their portfolio of consumer focused websites. In this very key role, you will work closely with multi-disciplinary teams, external vendor partners and units across the company to support the network’s branded consumer facing services via online, mobile and connected devices, digital marketing experiences, new technology and platform integrations, as well as team applications that increase overall efficiency of the Digital Marketing group. You will be the sole technology executive for the Digital Marketing division, and have technical “ownership” of all customer facing sites.
This position will have no direct reports but will manage all vendor/partner relations and provide direction and leadership to all technology initiatives. Prior hands-on web development experience is extremely important for this role, as is experience managing large web development / ecommerce projects.
Qualifications:
Experience in hands-on web development and expertise in a variety of languages (PHP, Python, HTML, Javascript, etc) is required
5+ years’ experience technical project management for web applications for a consumer facing internet, agency or entertainment company required
3+ years’ experience in managing highly scale-able web and/or enterprise software projects required. Media or entertainment industry experience is a plus.
Bachelor’s degree, with a technology focus preferred
Responsibilities:
Defines project requirements and acceptance criteria including communicating detailed project objectives, milestones and deliverables gaining consensus from stakeholders and vendor partners
Ideates, plans, executes and successfully delivers on concurrent technology projects overseeing external vendors and working with internal business units
Provides leadership in developing business requirements and is a technology lead at the network defining technical architecture for web, handheld devices and connected platforms
Oversees project status including budget management and reporting, removing impediments and escalates issues to leadership as required
Establishes project communications and approved workflows with vendors and other cross-functional teams
Leverages Agile methodologies leading vendors on a daily basis to the successful delivery of projects
Leads daily scrums, sprint planning, retrospectives, platform demos and oversees backlog grooming
Ensures the use of best practices while applying learnings from past projects to improve our process
Proactive, multifaceted, capable of working on concurrent projects and able to communicate effectively while collaborating with members of the Multi-platform Marketing team, cross-functional support organizations, vendors and executives
