$95-115k plus bonus - likely 10% target

Bell & Associates, Inc. has been engaged to help our client find their next QA Manager.  An exciting opportunity exists for an experienced Quality Assurance Manager to develop their career with a leading manufacturer of complex engineered castings and fabrications for commercial and military applications.

Our client is a global manufacturer and supplier of differentiated consumable and capital products to the mining, transport, general industrial and contract manufacturing markets. They operate a global network of manufacturing, sales and service facilities employing about 3,000 people worldwide.

The Quality Assurance Manager is a leadership role that will ensure excellence in the delivery of quality products and processes through the efficient deployment of the Quality Management System. The role will drive excellence by building quality capability across the management and employee team and develop and maintain internal and external relationships with key stakeholders ensuring customer satisfaction and ongoing certification to ISO9001, ASME NCA-3800, and other accreditation bodies.

Responsibilities

·         Ensure compliance with organizational health, safety, and environmental rules and regulations

·         Train employees on the safe use of tools and monitor their proper use

·         Immediately correct safety issues that are within the incumbent’s scope of work

·         Participate in special activities, projects, and programs in order to support the company’s safety, environment, quality, and efficiency goals

·         Administer and revise the quality system manuals as required to maintain compliance with the requirements of the ASME NCA-3800, ISO 9001:2015 and such additional requirements over and above those Codes and Standards as may be imposed by the customer or other regulatory bodies, such as DNV, ABS, and Electric Boat Specification 2678

·         Delegate departmental tasks to qualified individuals and oversee the operation of the quality department

·         Lead/Perform internal quality audits and external vendor audits

·         Establish goals and conduct performance evaluations with all quality personnel and maintain qualification, certification and required periodic performance evaluation records for NDT personnel in all five disciplines (MPE, LPE, Visual, UT, RE)

·         Develop quality control standards that are maintained in line with the quality policy and ensure all staff in the department are trained and follow the standards as established

·         Take corrective action to eliminate any potential quality losses through the analysis of work operations, quality records, and customer complaints

·         Ensure plans are developed and implemented to meet production requirements and ensure on-time delivery

·         Create requisitions for supplies and materials needed and work with purchasing to attain competitive pricing

·         Work with vendors on material and equipment purchases and to review new materials and equipment available

·         Complete month-end reports

·         Work closely with engineering and production control to coordinate activities and workflow

·         Work closely with contract services and estimating departments providing guidance and interpretation of customer RFQ and/or purchase order requirements assuring compliance can be achieved within reasonable cost and taking exceptions where needed

·         Create maintenance work orders as needed to keep the equipment and tools in good working order

·         Participate in efficiency and process improvement projects

·         Assure good housekeeping within the department

·         Lead/Participate in Customer, ASME, ISO, and sub-contractor audits

·         Coordinate on-site activities with customer source inspectors for quality and inspection activities

·         Other duties as assigned or requested

Requirements

·         Metallurgy, Engineering or equivalent bachelor level degree

·         7+ years’ experience in quality management in a manufacturing or heavy industry setting

·         Experience with SNT-TC-1A Level III in LPE, MPE, RE, UT, and Visual

·         Experience with Navsea 250-1500-1 Test Examiner for RE, LPE, and Visual

·         MIL-STD-2132 Test Examiner for Structural Casting Radiography

·         Lead auditor qualification per ISO 9001:2015, NQA-1 or equivalent

·         Development, implementation, and maintenance of QMS to an ISO9001 standard or industry equivalent

·         Experience working with top tier customers, internal and external, to resolve quality issues

·         Experience in managing a small team of professionals
