Bellevue Public Schools

The Bellevue Public Schools’ B.E.S.T. Program was established in 2011 to serve the transition needs of developmentally disabled young adults, ages 18-21.  This program emphasizes skill development in functional academics, personal management, motor development, vocational development, communication and social skills, and independent living.  Students, according to their Individual Education Program (IEP_, are taught the necessary skills needed for competitive employment, volunteer activities, or sheltered workshops.

School Nurse (RN)

The Bellevue Public Schools is accepting applications for substitute School Nurses.  This position is on an on-call basis.  Candidates must hold a valid NE RN license.  The pay for Substitute RNs is $140 per day.

Elementary Special Education Resource

The teacher is responsible for fulfilling the obligations and reflecting the philosophies outlined in contract, state and federal law, and the policies, regulations, and rules of the Bellevue Public Schools.  The teacher is responsible for providing to students appropriate and effective instruction, a positive role model, and a safe and healthy environment in which to achieve to their maximum potential.

SPECIFIC RESPONSIBILITIES:

*Effectively apply professional competencies to meet the minimum standards as adopted by the State Board of Education and the Selected Evaluation Criteria of the Bellevue Public Schools.

*Follow the Code of Ethics adopted by the State Board of Education.

*Know and follow all policies, rules, regulations, and directives of the district and the principal or administrator in the building where employed.

*Exhibit character and moral standards, and personal habits that are temperate in nature, and are such that they may be emulated by the youth of the community.

*Exhibit mental and physical health adequate to meet the responsibilities of the position held.

*Devote a satisfactory measure of time and energy to the duties assigned and to the business of the school.

*Maintain a positive relationship with patrons, employees, and students in daily

work activities.

*Conduct oneself both in and out of school in such a manner as to avoid

reflecting grave discredit upon the school, the district, or the employee.

*Conduct oneself morally and within the limits established in law for the continuation of professional educator contracts.

*Conduct supervisory responsibilities of students or other employees in a manner which is not cruel.

*Fulfill the responsibilities of teaching as defined in state law.

*Fulfill responsibilities as assigned by the supervisor/administrator.

Extended Daycare Paraprofessionals

Applications are being accepted for an Extended Daycare Paraprofessional position with Bellevue Public Schools Foundation Kids' Time.  Duties include supervising students in daycare under the direction of the Site Director, assisting in planning a daily program of development for the students, and consistently following daycare regulations established by the state of Nebraska.  Experience working with children is required.  For anyone over 18, applicants must have a high school diploma or a GED AND 1500 hours of experience with children OR an Associate Degree in early childhood education, education or child/youth development OR a plan to get three credit hours or 45 clock hours of training in administration, early childhood education, education, or child/youth development, within six months.   It will be required on the application to provide such information.  Must attend in-services and either be or be willing to become First Aid and CPR certified.  Required qualifications are that the applicant not pose a direct threat to the health or safety of himself/herself or others with or without reasonable accommodations, and must be capable of regularly attending to the duties of the position assigned and for the duration of the assignment.  This position is subject to a veterans preference.  Duty hours will vary, but may include 6:15 a.m. - 8:00 a.m. and/or 3:00 p.m. - 6:00 p.m. Monday through Friday.

Special Education Paraprofessionals

The position of Job Coach is to provide training and support for students, business co-workers, families, and district personnel to ensure success during the work site rotations and community interactions.   The Job Coach will work under the supervision of the B.E.S.T. teaching staff to ensure that students have safe and enriching work experiences.

Duties include supervising and working with students both one on one and in small groups when needed assisting the teacher.  Duties also include lifting, giving physical assistance, assisting in the lunchroom, and with toileting, transportation, and recreational activities in all areas of the building.  Required qualifications are that the applicant not pose a direct threat to the health or safety of himself/herself or others with or without reasonable accommodations, and must be capable of regularly attending to the duties of the position assigned and for the duration of the assignment.  This position is subject to a veterans preference.  Duty hours are typically  Monday through Friday, from 7:45 a.m. to 3:15 p.m.
