The Heart Center Clinical Nurse Liaison is a registered nurse with advanced education or training in the care of pediatric cardiology and cardio-thoracic patients. Working closely with the Cardiologists, Cardiothoracic surgeons, and Advanced Practice Providers, this RN facilitates communication between the members of the health care team and patient/family to enhance the quality of care provided to cardiac patients.

Must have excellent communication skills and a minimum of 2 years of pediatric experience with cardiac patients in direct patient care, including involvement in teaching and staff guidance. 

Full-time position. Schedule is 4 10s with some flexibility Monday through Friday. 

Current RN license to practice in the state of Texas required. BSN required; MSN preferred.

BLS required. CCRN, PALS, and ACLS preferred.

Bilingual preferred.

Through the vision and generosity of its founder, Clara Driscoll, Driscoll Children’s Hospital opened in 1953, becoming the first, and remains the only, free-standing children’s hospital in South Texas. In 2017, Driscoll had over 180,000 patient visits, including over 43,000 patients seen at South Texas’ first emergency room created exclusively for children.
