  bullet responsibilities

The primary responsibility for this position is to acquire new commercial, industrial and institutional Controls, Building Automation and MSI projects and accounts by developing relationships with owners, facility manager and management companies within the greater Cincinnati, northern Kentucky and Dayton markets. This is a consultative sales position.  Building Automation/MSI Sales Engineer sells Controls and Building Automation projects for mechanical systems to technical and C-level decision makers.  They develop sales leads, qualify prospects and make sales calls.  They perform site surveys, estimate, prepare and propose consultative sales solutions to meet the customers’ needs.  Position will negotiate, estimate, bid, propose and close contracts at qualified margins.  Building Automation/MSI Sales Engineer perform complete and quality turnovers with project management after sales to support a successful job completion that meets scope definition and projected gross margins and customer expectations. 

 

  bullet required qualifications 

  • Two – Four year Degree in electronics or engineering with HVAC industry experience, or a similar technical discipline or years in the HVAC, refrigeration, or controls experience can be a substitute.
  • Five + years’ experience in HVAC industry, preferred.
  • Valid Driver’s license with a clean driving record
  • Drug Free and able to pass Criminal Background Check
  • Ability to climb ladders.

 

  bullet required knowledge, skills, abilities 

  • Prior success selling and marketing Building Automation projects and conceptual solutions to end-users at medium and large size companies in a highly competitive market. 
  • Experience performing E-Energy Modeling.
  • Knowledge of an array of Building Automation systems including Honeywell preferred but not required.
  • Understand the financial HVAC sales impact on cash flow, pay-back, ROI, leasing vs purchase, etc.
  • Demonstrated presentation skills and experience
  • Proven ability to develop new business and aggressively close sales.
  • Ability to maintain relationships with local general contractors – cultivate.
  • Computer skills in Word, Excel, estimating, CRM database programs.
