    $4,413.00 - $5,167 per month (SR-22)
    *A School Year Differential of $118.81 to $139.11 per month will be added to the base salary, contingent upon funding.
  • NOTE: Department of Education employees will be placed on the salary range in accordance with Department regulations. All new external applicants will be placed on the initial step of the salary range. However, placement above the initial step of the salary range will be based on special characteristics and critical needs of the position, an applicant's exceptional qualifications, the availability of funds, and other relevant factors. Such appointments require prior approval.

    Downtown, Oahu
  • The immediate vacancy is located in the Office of Curriculum, Instruction and Student Support, Student Support Branch, Special Needs Section.
  • Summary - Level IV:
    Participates in and is responsible for a major content area of the audiology program involving planning, organizing, coordinating and assisting in the conduct of such a program; or as a highly independent and competent worker, provides diagnostic evaluation and/or therapeutic services in audiology under the general supervision of a non-technical supervisor; and performs other related duties as assigned.
  • Applicants must meet all the requirements for the position they are seeking as of the date of the application, unless otherwise specified. Unless specifically indicated, the required education and experience may not be gained concurrently. Note: Calculation of experience is based on full-time, 40-hour workweeks. Part-time experience is pro-rated. Example: Twelve months of experience at 20 hours/week is equivalent to six months of experience, not one year. Also, hours worked in excess of 40 hours/week will not be credited. Example: Twelve months of experience at 60 hours/week is equivalent to one year of experience, not one and a half years.

    To qualify, you must meet all of the following requirements:
  • Education Requirement:
    Applicants for all levels must possess a master's degree or equivalent from an accredited college or university in audiology as described in Chapter 468E of the Hawaii Revised Statutes.

    Audiology Experience Requirement:
    One (1) year of professional audiology experience which dealt with the detection, prevention or the application of remedies for the alleviation or cure of hearing disorders or teaching audiology at the graduate level in an accredited university. This experience must have been comparable to the III level in the State government service.

    Substitution Allowed:
    Possession of a Ph.D. degree in Audiology from an accredited college or university may be substituted for one year of audiology experience comparable to the III level in the State government service.

    Professional License Requirement:
    Applicants must possess a license issued by the Hawaii State Board of Speech Pathology and Audiology to practice as an Audiologist.
