Our client

Our client is one of the world's leading, innovative medical technology companies. They offer innovative products and services in Orthopaedics, Medical and Surgical, and Neurotechnology and Spine that help improve patient and hospital outcomes. On behalf of our client, we're currently looking for a Senior Legal Counsel for the region Germany, Switzerland, Austria and Poland (GSAP) and for the region Belgium & the Netherlands (BeNL), to be based at their office in the Cologne area, Germany.

Responsibilities

The Senior Regional Counsel GSAP, BeNL provides professional legal services to our clients' entities in the region to ensure that their legal rights are protected and that the business is compliant with local, international and corporate requirements. This role has management responsibilities and you will lead, inspire and grow a small legal team across the region.

In addition, the role will act as the lead lawyer for the Trauma & Extremities Division Europe, a very successful and high performing business unit within our client, and for identified pan-European projects.

In this position, you will report to the VP, Chief Legal Counsel EMEA.

Requirements

Law degree, admission to practice law preferred

Operating at a senior level and having gained significant professional experience in the Life Sciences Industry (Pharma or Medical Devices), or as an attorney in this Industry.

Demonstrates ability to collaborate with and lead project efforts with colleagues in a global organization.

International experience or experience working with clients in different jurisdictions and cultures

Inspires, educates and empowers others, provides guidance and direction to others and demonstrates excellent leadership skills.

Fluency in German & English are required; other European languages are beneficial.
