MDA is seeking immediate Child & Adolescent Psychiatry (CHP) coverage in Oregon (OR) for 4-6 hours per week ongoing. The position will provide psychiatry assessment, consultation, and medication management to juvenile offenders involved in Juvenile Services Division (JSD) treatment programs. This includes "youthful offenders" who were convicted on a Measure 11 or adult waived crime and are supervised by DCJ's Adult Services Division (ASD) or in conjunction with DCJ's Juvenile Services Division. Providers must be licensed in the State of OR and must have experience administering psychiatric services to adolescents and their families.

Provider will be expected to: (1) Evaluate and assess the mental and physical aspects of the psychological disturbance/mental illness; (2) Re-assess and follow up with specific youth as needed; (3) Prescribe medication, when indicated, and establish a regimen for medication monitoring; (4) complete client progress notes and document client orders; (5) Complete encounter forms and (6) Consult with DCJ's Mental Health Consultants, program staff, and/or other providers. Average length of stay is approximately 45 days. Most common diagnosis is ADHD, PTSD, and mood disorders are most common, along with substance abuse disorders.
