Business Systems Analyst, Retail Payments Team, Starbucks Technology
JOB SUMMARY AND MISSION
This position contributes to Starbucks success by supporting technology solutions in support of technology initiatives. This role will support the design and development of technology and process solutions establishing key business capabilities around the Starbucks Stored Value Card, enabling the realization of strategic initiatives and operational improvements. While supporting new technology and existing systems, an effective systems analyst I will develop subject matter expertise and gain valuable experience by partnering with senior analysts, technical resources, and business partners in supporting and delivering meaningful technology solutions
SUMMARY OF KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

• Knowledge of Agile methodologies and how they relate to prioritizing multiple • Ability to apply knowledge of multidisciplinary business principles and practices to support successful outcomes in projects and activities. • Basic understanding of systems development concepts. • Ability to use knowledge, sound judgment, and resourcefulness to support the design and deployment of global technology solutions. • Ability to balance multiple priorities and meet deadlines.

WHAT DOES A TYPICAL WORK DAY ENTAIL? WHAT ARE THE DAILY TASKS/RESPONSIBILITIES/DELIVERABLES?
• Answering questions and escalations and working on basic project tracking • Working with vendors to understand new features • Analyzing how many users are impacted by changes in functionality
NICE TO HAVE SKILLS:
• Some experience in retail technology • Basic understanding of agile project management • Good communication skills • Ability to be on call if needed
This team does all of the Hardware and software development for retail payments, domestic and international. Mostly a team of engineers, 5 devs, 3 QA, a product manager and a scrum master. The team does enhancements to the payment tool and is focusing on speed of service. They are updating and modifying to make them quicker.
This person will be interacting with the vendor, coordinating release dates, make sure the system is working properly, receives a lot of escalations on the business and store side. Coordination is the key to this role, semi-project management work. Communication is huge and basis analysis.
Having experience with retail technology is a huge plus. This person needs to be very organized and detail oriented, will be communication with VP level on some occasions. This person will also have a Product Manager that will help lead them along.
